Privacy Policy
Effective October 10, 2026 · Last updated October 15, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how CourtRemind™ ("we," "us") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use courtremind.com and the CourtRemind™ service (the "Service"). CourtRemind™ helps attorneys, law firms, and bail bond agents send text-message reminders about court dates and appointments to their clients and the people their clients authorize.
1. Who this policy covers
- Customers: attorneys, law firms, bail bond agencies, and their staff who create CourtRemind™ accounts.
- Recipients: clients, family members, cosigners, and others whose phone numbers a customer adds to receive reminders.
- Visitors to courtremind.com.
For recipient information, our customer decides whose numbers to add and what reminders to send; we process that information on the customer's behalf and under their instructions. If you received a CourtRemind™ text and have questions, you can contact the attorney or agency that sent it, or us.
2. Information we collect
From customers
- Account information: name, firm or agency name, email address, phone number (for test texts and optional copies of reminders), time zone, and team members you invite.
- Billing information: plan, billing history, and payment status. Card details are collected and stored by our payment processor, Stripe; we do not see or store full card numbers.
- Client directory: client names, short codes, case and booking numbers you add, and the names, relationships, phone numbers, language preferences, and consent records of each recipient you add. You may also add an optional email address and mailing address for a client or recipient; these are kept for your records and are not used to send reminders.
- Settings and templates: reminder schedules, hearing types, courthouse information, and message templates.
- Activity records: sign-ins and actions taken in your account (for example, who sent a reminder and when).
From partners and referrals
- Partners: name, email address, and the answers you give when joining the partner program (what you do, how you know attorneys, how you'll share, and an optional website). Bank, identity, and tax details for payouts are collected and stored by Stripe; we do not see them.
- Referrals: which customer or partner link a new customer signed up through. Customers and partners can see the names of the customers who signed up through their link and whether each one subscribed, but nothing else about those accounts.
From connected calendars
If you connect a calendar, we read events on the calendars you choose to watch. For each event we use the title, start and end time, location, and calendar identifier to identify court dates and appointments and match them to your clients. We also read the event's description or notes to find a CourtRemind™ short code (like #jperez) and court details such as the courthouse, department, judge, hearing type, and case number. We keep only those extracted details; we do not store event descriptions or notes, and we never include them in reminder texts. Events that don't look like court dates or client appointments are not stored. See section 4 for details on Google and Microsoft data.
From text-message recipients
- The recipient's phone number, name, and language, as entered by the customer.
- Replies to our texts (for example "C" to confirm, STOP to opt out, or HELP), delivery status, and opt-out / opt-in history.
Automatically
- Basic technical information such as IP address, browser and device type, and pages visited, used for security, fraud prevention, and aggregate site analytics. We do not use advertising trackers.
3. How we use information
- To provide the Service: find court dates and appointments on your calendar, schedule and send reminders, process replies and confirmations, and show status on your dashboard.
- To operate your account: sign-in codes, two-step verification, team access, billing, and service notices (for example, low-text warnings and trial notices).
- To keep the Service secure and reliable: preventing abuse, honoring opt-outs, debugging, and backups.
- To comply with law and carrier rules for business text messaging.
- With your consent or to send you product updates; you can unsubscribe from marketing email at any time.
We do not sell personal information, use it for targeted advertising, or use calendar data or recipient information to train artificial-intelligence or machine-learning models.
4. Google and Microsoft calendar data
CourtRemind™ requests read-only access to calendars. We use calendar data only to provide and improve user-facing features of the Service that you can see in your account — identifying court dates and appointments, matching them to clients, and scheduling reminders.
Specifically, we:
- do not transfer Google or Microsoft user data to others except as needed to provide the Service, comply with law, or as part of a merger or acquisition with notice to you;
- do not use it for advertising, and do not sell it;
- do not allow humans to read it, except with your permission for a specific support request, when needed for security purposes, or to comply with law;
- store OAuth tokens and private calendar links encrypted, and delete them as soon as you disconnect a calendar.
You can revoke CourtRemind™'s access at any time from your CourtRemind™ settings, or from your Google Account permissions or Microsoft account app access page.
5. Text messaging
- Program: CourtRemind™ court date and appointment reminders, sent on behalf of the attorney, firm, or agency that added your number.
- Frequency: varies; typically up to three reminders per court date or appointment.
- Cost: Message and data rates may apply.
- Opt out: reply STOP (or ALTO) at any time. Reply START to opt back in. Reply HELP (or AYUDA) for help.
- No marketing sharing: No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text-messaging opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties, except service providers that deliver the messages.
6. How we share information
We share information only with service providers that help us run the Service, under contracts that limit their use of it, and as described below:
| Provider | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Vercel | Website and application hosting |
| Supabase | Database and authentication |
| Textbelt (and, in the future, another SMS carrier such as Twilio or Telnyx) | Sending and receiving text messages |
| Resend | Sending account email (sign-in codes, notices) |
| Stripe | Payments and billing |
| Cloudflare | Domain, DNS, and email forwarding |
| Google, Microsoft | Calendar connections you choose to make |
| GitHub | Encrypted database backups |
We may also disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or court order (and, where permitted, we will notify the affected customer first); to protect the rights, safety, or property of CourtRemind™, our users, or others; or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case this policy will continue to apply.
7. Security
- Encryption in transit (HTTPS) and encryption of calendar tokens and private calendar links at rest.
- Passwordless sign-in with one-time email codes, optional two-step verification, and per-user logins with an activity log.
- Access limited to people who need it; encrypted backups.
- Reminder templates that never include charges, case numbers, or calendar notes.
No system is perfectly secure. If we learn of a security incident affecting your information, we will notify you as required by law.
8. Retention and deletion
- Calendar tokens and private calendar links are deleted immediately when you disconnect a calendar.
- Customer and recipient data is kept while your account is active. When you close your account, we delete it within 30 days, except encrypted backups, which expire within a further 30 days, and records we must keep for legal, tax, or opt-out compliance (for example, that a number opted out).
- You can delete individual clients, recipients, and court dates at any time.
9. Your choices and rights
- Customers can access, correct, export, or delete their information in their account settings or by contacting us.
- Recipients can stop texts at any time by replying STOP, and can ask the sending attorney or agency, or us, to delete their number.
- California residents: you may have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, to request deletion or correction, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. To make a request, email hello@courtremind.com; we will verify your request before acting on it.
10. Children
The Service is intended for businesses and is not directed to children under 13. Customers may add minor clients' authorized contacts (for example, a parent) as recipients; customers are responsible for having appropriate authority to do so.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. If we make material changes, we will notify customers by email or in the app before they take effect. The effective date above shows the latest version.
