Google Calendar + SMS

Send SMS reminders from Google Calendar to your clients.

Google Calendar reminds you. It doesn't send a text reminder to your clients. CourtRemind™ connects to your Google Calendar and sends a text before every court date and client appointment, to the client and the family who helps them get there.

  • Keep adding events in Google Calendar, exactly as you do now
  • Read-only access: it can never change your calendar
  • Reminders 7, 3, and 1 day before, in English or Spanish

How to connect Google Calendar

1

Share your calendar

In Google Calendar, open Settings and sharing for the calendar with your court dates and share it with the CourtRemind address shown in your dashboard, with "See all event details."

2

Paste the Calendar ID

Copy the Calendar ID from the same settings page into CourtRemind™. For your main calendar, it's your Google email address. The dashboard shows each step with screenshots.

3

Add your clients once

Name, phone, and language, plus any family member or cosigner. From then on, every matching event gets its reminders.

Made for court dates

More than a generic calendar SMS add-on.

General SMS reminder add-ons send one message to one person. Court dates need more.

The client and their family

Add a parent, spouse, or cosigner to any client. Each person gets their own reminder, in their own language.

The details that get them there

Hearing type, date, time, courthouse, street address, and department. Your event's Location is used as written; if it's empty, pick the courthouse and the address fills in.

Confirmations

Clients reply C to confirm. Your calendar view in CourtRemind™ shows who confirmed and flags anything that needs you.

Nothing private in the text

Event notes are never sent. Reminders never include charges or case numbers. STOP is honored automatically.

Questions

Google Calendar SMS reminders FAQ

Can Google Calendar send SMS reminders to other people?

Not by itself. Google Calendar can notify you, and it emails guests you invite, but it has no built-in way to send a text message to a client who isn't on your account. A service like CourtRemind reads your calendar and sends the text reminders for you.

Does CourtRemind change anything in my Google Calendar?

No. Access is read-only. CourtRemind can see the events on the calendars you share with it, and it can never add, change, or delete anything.

How does it know which client an event is for?

It matches the client's name in the event title, or a short code you add, like #jperez. Anything it can't match shows up on your dashboard, where you pick the client from a list.

What happens when I move or delete an event?

CourtRemind checks your calendar every few minutes. Move the event and the reminders move with it. Delete it and the remaining reminders are cancelled.

Does it work with Google Workspace accounts?

Yes. If your firm's admin has turned off sharing calendars outside the organization, they can allow it for your calendar in the Google Admin console.

How much does it cost?

Plans start at $19 a month for 100 texts. Each full reminder counts as one text, no matter how long. Try it free with 25 texts and no credit card.
